I'm not familiar with Claude's architecture, but I'd be surprised if it doesn't index your codebase for semantic search with the explore feature it has. How else would they find context? They already have a semantic search tool -- which is rag.
Cursor and Windsurf both use semantic search via embeddings.
You can get semantic search in Claude Code using this unofficial plugin: https://github.com/zilliztech/claude-context - it's built by and uses a managed vector database called Zilliz Cloud.
It’s surprisingly fast to generate embeddings. I don’t think it’s a UX issue as much as it’s that Anthropic themselves don’t offer any embeddings API (they only have one internally, but publicly recommend Cohere).
They do use RAGs a lot for their desktop app, their projects implementation make a lot of use of it.
One hack is to end the prompt with: following solid architecture principles.
EG:
Step 1: Define problem in PROBLEM.md
Step 2: Ask agent to gather scope from codebase and update PROBLEM.md
Step 3: Ask agent to create a plan following design and architecture best practices (solid, etc) and update PROBLEM.md
Step 4: Ask agent to implement PROBLEM.md
KIDNAP: To abduct or confine (a person) forcibly, by threat of force, or by deceit, without the authority of law.
Care to explain the distinction? They have authority of law?? haha It's terrorism. No crime, no warrant, no due process. Obviously it's not kidnapping by law, because no law applies to ICE.
The apartment building scene was a mass kidnapping of US citizens. They've shot US citizens for recording their actions with live bullets, pepper balls, and gas grenade launchers. They tear gassed kids on the playground, attacked a Halloween parade, the horrors are endless.
If there is a thing a reasonable person can do with pork belly, I have done it. I think you have the higher evidentiary burden here, regardless of our respective experience. You can check Ruhlman's Charcuterie and Salumi books, you can check AskCulinary, you can check the food Stack Exchange, you can just notice that literally every packaged bacon product, whether or not it claims to be cured, is in fact cured (usually with celery powder), or, of course, you can just take some sliced pork belly and make a 5% pink salt/salt mix and throw it in a zip in your fridge overnight and see.
I get that you like smoked pork belly. I do too. I don't even object to you calling it "bacon". All sorts of things that aren't American bacon are called bacon. But nitrites are absolutely part of the distinctive flavor of American bacon.
The whole thing is silly, because we can just point to ham and corned beef, two products where the debate doesn't even make sense; we only see it with bacon, and we only see it because vendors lie about whether their products are cured.
This strategy is known as "disaster capitalism" and was explored by Naomi Klein in her book "The Shock Doctrine". Which details how UofChicago economists experimented on South America in addition to natural disasters, etc. The rich love to burn everything down so they can buy what's left for pennies. It's sick.
Everyone who works in tech knows this is true and has been happening for longer than described in the article. Since 2020, it feels like I've trained half of Bangalore on how to do our jobs.
The company sold an app and refuses to honor what users paid for. If this is allowed, it will become a strategy because it's profitable. Trick people to purchase, then add ads to the 'ad-free' app. There's no logic other than, "we can steal and no one will stop us." They should be forced to honor purchases or publish a new app.
I purchased this app way back in 2014 when I did Android dev FT. I had no idea about the history until recently when I began seeing ads. Comapnies should be prohibited by Google Play Store or someone else from rug pulls like this, otherwise it will become a normal business strategy. What's to stop someone from building an app fast by selling lifetime ad free, then when they build a user base, selling to a large company who does this? Nothing. That's what.
They should be forced to publish a new APK with a different name to change monetization strategies or honor what people paid for. This is fraud and theft.
It should not surprise you. They hold no position. In fact the positions they do hold are mostly lies (as we can see small gov, debt reduction, law and order). The only policies that are real are the evil ones: deploying military against civilians, transforming ICE into brutal terrorists, bankrupting the country through tax cuts, etc ... The GOP strategy has been to break the government, claim it doesn't work so they can defund it, foment fear and hatred, and flat out reject Democracy. Why? Because their policies are abhorrent and hateful and only help by a few rich "Christian" natrionalists.
