I was going to say the same thing.

I learn more reading the comments here than anywhere else. Thanks everyone for my addiction.

> The rsync question is not a workable answer, as OpenBSD has reimplemented the rsync protocol in a new codebase

I thought openrsync existed solely because of rpki. Even OpenBSD devs recommend using the real version from ports.

> It's unfortunate that Apple has taught me (and I assume others as well) over the last 15 years that the best practice is to never install a major OS update.

The sole reason I migrated from Android to Apple was to receive security upgrades for years not months. I am genuinely baffled by the take here on HN. People will (rightly) get up in arms about minor security issues across numerous domains then talk about never updating their phone. That has literally their entire life on it.

Regardless of any shortcomings in the article the general point is valid. Ask your new college grads any networking question beyond the C API and the answers you will receive will amuse and frighten you. I blame most CS curriculums basically dropping networking from required course load. One of the many learn on the job subjects for new hires is inevitably basic networking.

I have an ipv6 wireguard vpn from my iOS phone to my home network. It routes all traffic through my home isp. I use the wireguard iOS client. Battery life has been fine for me. One caveat is that background updates are disabled for almost every app.

Free tier doesn’t get WAF. We kept working.

Their December 3rd blog about React states:

"These new protections are included in both the Cloudflare Free Managed Ruleset (available to all Free customers) ..... "

having some burn in time in free tier before it hits the whole network would have been good?!
