Warpstream (by Confluent (an IBM company))

expected this to be about cpu cycles, given the author's works :D

> When you're just unwinding in front of a 65-inch screen, you might not notice the quality loss from compression.

this has little to do with the resolution, though. maybe 4k just gets the benefit of being compressed with better codecs.

for me at least, watching shows/movies at typical viewing distance, a well-encoded 4k->1080p mkv is only very slightly less sharp and is vastly smaller to store on the media server.

1. Buy up 40% of global fab capacity

2. Resell wafers at huge markup to competitors

3. Profit

after trying multiple distros 6 years ago to replace the enshittified Windows 8/10 [1], ended up at EndeavourOS + KDE. there is very little i miss about Windows. maybe Foobar2000.

amazing distro.

[1] after it messed up my linux dual boot config, continuously reset my registry tweaks with forced updates / restarts, insisted on re-enabling the io-destroying Defender, and started force-feeding me ads

Not a complete replacement for Foobar2000, but you might want to take a look at Quodlibet, which has many of the important niceties, and also is good at metainfo handling, where Foobar2000 shines especially.

foobar2000 runs great under Wine.

Eh, I think the Lada is more of a "you can't polish a turd" situation.

The annoying thing is the third BMW from the left was the perfect one, with the fourth left a close second.

Yeah going downhill fast they didnt include some of the newer crap

VeraCrypt is French, too, iirc?

i was initially confused how 19.2K rps is notable when Express typically benchmarks around 15K rps [1].

however, the author is benchmarking a route with an id param here, not a static route.
