A Linux distro would be nice tbh, but the applications I use are not available for that. I honestly don't have any complaints about my macbook pro 2019. I love the build quality, OS, the consistency with the family of products and the app ecosystem.

Unless I misunderstand you - several Lenovo laptops run Ubuntu right out of the box (Typing this on a X1c 7th gen which shipped with 18.04 LTS.)
