Feud takes a funny turn:

https://twitter.com/ItIsFinch/status/1653844118399864839

"Musk threatened in emails to take NPR's account, if they don't start tweeting. NPR published the story. So Musk sent a blank email with subject "You suck".

They printed it and framed it."

An insult can be an unintentional compliment --- depending on the source.

In this particular case, it only confirms that Musk's attempted coercion failed.

I just want to comment on the commenter below that article

> It doesn't matter how much of your revenue comes from "federal, state, and local governments," NPR. If you receive any, you're government funded.

This isn't what NPR was arguing about.

But sure, every single media company that has run a paid-for ad seeking recruits for the military branches is government funded media.

And to add, government funded does not insinuate government controlled.

The government funds lots of things through grants, like NOAA, NWS, Internet providers, even private television stations. NPR is funded through several government levels: federal, state, and local. So even the term "government funded" is very vague, and ignores several other major funding sources.

The whole Twitter labeling thing is odd.

Musk's other companies are "government funded" in some way --- Tesla, SpaceX, Boring Company.

The fact that Tesla stock was used to finance the Twitter buyout must mean that Twitter is government funded as well.

You’d think he’d stop digging. Or at least confine his digging activities to Weird Car Tunnels (whatever happened to those?)

Sell it to the highest bidder and let the market dictate who is assigned those three letters?

Let the market decide who wants to get sued for impersonating NPR?

NPR is trademarked.

Musk is a petulant child making idle threats in a desperate attempt to save his social media misadventure.
