Windows PC gaming in 2025: Handheld innovation, Arm progress, DirectX advances (windows.com)

> For decades, Windows has been the platform for PC gaming: open, flexible and built with players in mind.

To by cynical-slash-experienced for a moment, my understanding of corporate communications reads this as: 'We are worried gamers will stop using Windows.'

They even use 'innovation' right in the headline, not even leaving that erstwhile salubrious word until the text where it belongs, next to 'collaboration', 'push forward', and 'deliver experiences'.

I'm not a Windows user, nor a gamer but this post reminds me a bit of an Gates' dismissiveness of Linux back in the late 90s.

Is this another case of history repeating itself?
